Body detoxification can be achieved with foot detox pads. Learn how to use detox pads, how they work to remove body toxins, and the natural products they contain.

Foot detox pads are marketed to help draw out heavy metal toxins, including uric acid and oxalic acid that have accumulated in the body. In a recent study conducted by Research Testing Laboratories in New York, cholesterol levels were shown to have been decreased after two consecutive weeks of using Green Tea edition foot pads four times a day. While these clinical trials can be debated, many independent studies have shown trace toxins eliminated from the body as well as increased health levels after regular use of foot detox pads.

Detox Foot Pads for Body Detoxification

Foot detox pads are recommended to be used consecutively for two weeks to help eliminate body toxins during the initial detoxification process. A detox pad should be applied to the bottom of the foot because this is where most of the nerves in our body end, according to CNGI, Inc. By wearing the pad for four to nine consecutive hours, the foot should receive the complete benefits associated with reflexology treatments, per Natural Body Detox.

Thirty pads are recommended for the two week initial detox, one worn on each foot overnight. The pad can be applied directly to the sole of the foot, and covered with a sock if preferred, although not necessary. Maintenance can be achieved by reducing the application of the detox foot pads to three to five nights a week after the initial two weeks. This will help the body to continue eliminating the toxins that are consumed on an everyday basis.

Detox Pads Contradictions

There are no contradictions found with using foot detox pads. They are safe enough to use in children over the age of two, and can be used by breastfeeding mothers, although CNGI, Inc. does not recommend using them during pregnancy. Detox pads that are applied to the foot can also be used in conjunction with prescription medication.

Natural Products in Foot Detox Pads

For those with an allergy to shellfish, detox pads that are made without chitosan, which is the shell of a crab, are available on the market to avoid any serious reactions. The ingredients listed are all natural, such as wood vinegar, bamboo vinegar, chitosan, dokudami, tourmaline, and grapefruit, amongst others, and therefore should be carefully examined by anyone who may have reactions to various natural products.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, the use of foot detox pads is not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, and the claims associated with body detoxification with the use of foot detox pads has not been verified. As with any product, should be used under a physician’s care.
