William G. Milliken State Park and Harbor and Freedom Hill County Park

The William G. Milliken State Park, located in downtown Detroit, features over 31 acres for biking, fishing and picnicking. Visitors can enjoy walking trails as well as bicycle trails or spend free time relaxing on a boat. The area provides a distinct view of local wildlife and migrating birds.

The Freedom Hill County Park offers nearly 100 acres complete with nature trails suitable for biking and walking. Visitors to the park can also enjoy an outdoor amphitheater and a variety of festivals and concerts. The trails can accommodate rollerbladers, runners and bicyclers.

Metro Beach Metropark

The Metro Beach Metropark covers a total of 770 acres and offers a variety of trails for walking, bicycling and skiing. Visitors to the park can also enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and picnicking. Swimmers will enjoy an Olympic-size swimming pool with water slides. The Metropark also features a wildlife viewing area and 18-hole golf course.

Visitors to the Detroit area as well as residents can enjoy an easy exercise program by biking one of the city's major bike trails. These trails allow outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy exercising and relaxing in an outdoor setting without worrying about major metropolitan traffic.
