APA Style, also known as American Psychological Association style, is one of many formats that can be used for papers and major documents. Other major formats include Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts (URM) and Chicago Style. The APA writing style has a variety of advantages that make it preferable amongst numerous academic professors.
Many students use the APA format because they are required to from their teachers, but do not completely understand the overall advantage of using it. Some advantages include a consistent format, simplification for the editor and the ability to establish credibility.
